2016 Call for Papers: "Urban Humanities Convergence" Essex County College Humanities Conference
The Urban Humanities Convergence will also
highlight Newark’s 350th anniversary as a city by including events in conjunction
with Newark 350, a year-long celebration of one of America’s oldest and
greatest cities.
We especially welcome panels, screenings,
exhibits, performances, interactive events, etc. on the following topics:
--Urban Identities and Intersectionalities
Across Race, Gender, Class, Citizenship Status and Sexual Orientation
--Gentrification
--Urban Social Movements and Struggles
--Newark’s 350th Anniversary
--Urban Music Genres
--Urban Fiction
--Graphic Novels
--Film Noir/Noir Fiction
--Housing and Architecture
Abstracts should be 300 words in length. Authors should send
their abstracts attached as a Word document by January 31st. Abstracts should be submitted via the submission form at http://goo.gl/forms/Jai4DFz0KN.
